We hosted hikers through May 14th 2025 this year.
For the rest of 2025 we are focused on private student group retreats and hosting hikers does not work for us. 

We recommend ITH hostel, Robinhood Resort, Vintage Resort.

Where to jump off the PCT trail near Big Bear? 
MILE 252.1: Highway 38 (ONYX SUMMIT) - First chance - lots of traffic coming into town. 
MILE 266: Highway 18 (CUSHIONBERRY GRADE) - BEST PLACE TO GET A RIDE INTO and BACK from hostel
MILE 274.1: Van Dusen Canyon Road - Fireroad crossing - still 2 miles of dirt road into town
Mile 277.7: Cougar Crest Trail -  2 mile Singletrack Trail down to lake - this is past most useful parts of town, but we can shuttle back to here easily.
