BBH HOSTEL STORY

After traveling the world and driving mountain bike and backpacker tours in the USA and Mexico, I moved to Big Bear Lake in 2000 to enjoy a mountain lifestyle and outdoor recreation. I lived with international students while working at the ski resorts for many years. The hostel officially opened in 2007. After more than a decade of fun hosting guests, I moved off site and have a lovely family life. The hostel has evolved over the years into half adventure base camp hostel and half retreat center for youth groups, family reunions, and church groups of all ages. We have wonderful co-hosts who live on-site and take care of everything. Stay with us and you will have a chance to meet people from all over the world, as well as Americans visiting Big Bear to escape the city, rest, relax, and enjoy mountain life.

The view from basically every window in the hostel is beautiful, the lake (across the street) feels right outside! The village is literally down the street, and right in front is a kayak and paddle boarding rental place. Super convenient. The unit was amazing, and was very spacious. The outside space was even more amazing. We had a wonderful time spending the afternoon and evening outside. Overall I 1000% recommend this place. The host is super thorough and makes sure we are as comfortable as can be while knowing some little perks about the area. Worth every penny I would say! Policies / Things to Remember. Bedding and towel is provided. Beds are made with sheets, pillow case, and folded blanket. Please bring your own bathroom items. Pets are not allowed. 15 day maximum stay per month. The house has central heating set at 68-70. No cooling. Big Bear has cool mountain air 99% of the year. Fans available in room. We enforce quiet hours from 10 PM - 8 AM. Big Bear Hostel Description: Big Bear Hostel is a small home-style hostel. 3 Private bedrooms and one 7-bed dorm. We have an on site host, but you will be mostly interacting with other guests in the house. This is not a party hostel. We are family friendly. Please don't stay with us if you plan to stay out late drinking at the bar. If you disturb other guests while intoxicated you will be kicked out (evicted) with no refund. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Disturbing other guests will not be tolerated. If you snore, please don't book a shared bunk room!   *Multi Night Discount Terms: 3 night discount = 5%, 4 night discount = 10%, 5 night discount = 15%, 7+ night discount = 20%. *Subject to availability.
