I had such an amazing time at the Big Bear Hostel. Richard was extremely welcoming and informative from the beginning. The place has this rustic cabin feel with a large living room with comfy couches, book shelves, a TV. Loved lounging out there to read a book while I stared out the windows every few minutes. There are three large bathrooms to shower in and my stuff felt secure with the PIN pad doors for each room. The kitchen was well equipped and got to cook some nice meals. Best of all, the location was top notch with the village a block away where there are dozens of restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes, and bars. I recommend Copper Q for coffee and a pastry and a chill vibe. Finally, there is a bike, kayak, and paddleboard rental place right beside, and the lake across the street. I rented a bike and had a great time... Such a great value place and well hosted, one of the best hostels ive been to.
