TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Arrivals and Departures
New arrivals can check into their rooms after 4pm each day. Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room, and check out, before 10:30am. After this time guests may make use of the luggage storage facilities but all possessions must be removed from the room and the keys handed back to reception. - PETS
We love pets, but due to the communal atmosphere they cannot be allowed in the hostel. - Check In
You do not have to be a member of any organization to stay at Big Bear Hostel however we do require that some form of valid photo identification is presented upon check in, preferably a Passport, I. D. card or driving license. Check in hours are between 4pm and 10:30pm. You must make arrangements with hostel staff by calling the hostel office at 909 866 8900 if you plan to arrive after 10pm. - Check Out
Check out is at 10:30am and guests must remove the linens from your dormitory bed and place on the floor of laundry area. - Age Restriction
Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (over 18). Unlike some hostels we do not have an upper age limit. Most of our guests are backpackers in the 18 to 30 age range. But we also get many families with kids and couples and groups of friends of all ages. Please be aware that you may be assigned a top bunk! - Guest Behavior
The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to Big Bear Hostel. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manor and follow local laws. Failure of any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group. - Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in our buildings or bedrooms or dormitories. Any guest found smoking within the building will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund. A smoking area and ashtrays are provided outside the building for guests who wish to smoke. Please do not smoke within 15 feet of open doors and windows. - Personal Property
Guests may use secure lockers (located at various locations), however it remains the guest's responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. Big Bear Hostel accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused. Please bring a padlock if you would like to use the free lockers. - Big Bear Hostel Property
Guests agree to reimburse Big Bear Hostel for any damages caused by inappropriate behavior during their stay at Big Bear Hostel. - Security Cards
Upon check in guests will receive a room key and entry door code for access to both the hostel and their room. Keys must be handed back to reception on check out. Failure to return the key will result in a $10.00 charge which may be charged against the customer's credit card. - Liability
Big Bear Hostel's liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us. - Your Information
Big Bear Hostel shall only store and use information you supply to us or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out our contract with you and to inform you of other services and offers which we make available from time to time. Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, despatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter. - Discretion
All bookings are subject to availability and Big Bear Hostel reserves the right to decline or cancel any booking at its discretion. - In rare cases when a group books our entire facility your reservation may need to be canceled. In this case we will try to find you equal or better accomodation at a similar price. But we are not responsible for and losses this may cause you and your party.
- Reservation Policy / Fees:
We accept Cash, Visa and MasterCard ONLY!. There is a convenience fee for paying with credit cards.
If you paid a deposit during your reservation process, cash is accepted at check in for the remaining balance. Checks are not accepted.
Making a reservation
In order to make reservations through our site, you must provide us with certain personal information such as your name, your address, your telephone number, your email address, and your credit card number and expiration date and other personal information to complete the reservation. Big Bear Hostel collects and securely transfers credit card information to our payment processing provider as part of the reservation process. All payments made through our site are made directly to Big Bear Hostel. - Security
We take steps to protect against the loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration of personally-identifiable information collected through this Web site. We recognize the importance of security for all personally-identifiable information collected by our Web site. We exercise care in providing secure transmission of your information from your computer to our servers.
Once we receive personally-identifiable as part of the reservation process, we take steps to protect its security on our systems. In the event we request or transmit sensitive information, such as credit card information, we use industry standard, secure socket layer ("SSL") encryption.
This online privacy policy applies to Big Bear Hostel.
What personal information does Big Bear Hostel gather from me?
You are only asked to provide information if you want to make a reservation at our lodge. We do not sell contact information.
- No Show / Cancelation Policy:
If the total amount of your first nights accomodation is charged at the time you make a reservation. It is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due at check-in. If you do not show up on your arrival date you will be charged for the first night of your accomodation and the rest of your reservation will be canceled.
- Late departure:
In the case of a late departure, Big Bear Hostel reserves the right to charge for a further nights stay at the appropriate rack rate of the bed(s). Management discretion will apply. Please ask for late checkout and we will try to accomodate you.
- Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 1, 2009. We may change or supplement this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes in the way Big Bear Hostel or Big Bear Hostel technical providers use personal information will be described in future versions of this Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy changes will apply to the information collected from the date we post the revised Privacy Policy.
