HOW TO TAKE THE PUBLIC BUS / TRAIN SYSTEM TO BIG BEAR
OPTION 1, Drive Yourself - (Easy but Expensive), 2-3 hours
Rent a car at LAX and drive to Big Bearhttp://www.ez2rentacar.com/ (looks like a good deal)
OPTION 2, Shuttle Van - (Easy but Expensive), 2-3 hours
Take a shuttle van from LAX to Big Bear. ($200-$300). Best if you have 5-10 people.
OPTION 3, Public Transportation (Complicated, slow, cheap), 5-10 hours
1) Take a shuttle/bus from Airport to LA Metrolink Train Station (B)

2) Take Metrolink Train from Union Station to end of San Bernardino Line (C)
3) Take MARTA Bus (Mountain Area Regional Transportation Authority) to Big Bear Lake (D)
- There is a MARTA Bus stop at Metrolink Train Station in San Bernardino. (You must call MARTA to Schedule Pickup!)
- Tell them you want to get dropped off at Knickerbocker / Big Bear Blvd. (Hostel is behind Getboards snowboard shop)
- If they can't drop you off, you might need to take another MARTA Bus from DIY/VONS bus stop WEST to Veterans park. (Across from Hostel)
- Ask driver about Dial-a-Ride (Marta's version of a taxi service)
